In view of Secretary Kerry's determined and energetic efforts to achieve an agreement between Israel and the PA, it is timely to realize that the stubborn refusal by Mahmoud Abbas to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, his objection to an Israeli presence in the Jordan valley and his insistence on removal of ALL "settlements" east of the Green Line directly oppose exhortations by President Obama.

The announcement by the EU of the Horizon 2020 program for research and innovation with an €80billion budget has been treated with acclamation as part of its drive to create new growth and jobs in Europe.
However, although the program's web site states specifically that it will be fully open to international participation, the EU issued guidelines that exclude participation by Israeli entities located beyond the 1967...

On the popular MSNBC Rachel Maddow show, Rachel interviewed Joseph Cirincione, president of the publicly supported Ploughshares Fund which is dedicated to seeking peace and security in a world without nuclear weapons. The foundation has raised over $80 million to "fund the smartest people with the best ideas" to achieve its objectives. (16.54 on the timeline)
